AHS Foundation


The AHS Foundation's mission shall be the devotion to the advancement of the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal wall abnormalities and to seek projects of scientific interest to AHS to fulfill this mission.

The Foundation was organized to form a closer association of general surgeons and other interested parties in order to maintain a high standard in this area of medicine and to advance the science and art of abdominal wall surgery in the service of the patient and health of the public, to provide fellowship and education and, in general, to promote the betterment of the medical profession.

Through the work of the foundation, the AHS can truly preserve our mission to advance the science and treatment of hernia. Be assured that no part of Foundation funds are used for legislative or policy issues.

A Message from the Foundation President

Resident Research Grant - Annual grants are limited to up to $25,000 for a period of one year, and are made to the principal investigator. Studies may be either clinical (human) or pre-clinical (animal/bench).
