The New AmericanHerniaSociety.org Launches

Welcome to the new site of the American Hernia Society.  In order to better serve both members and patients we have re-vamped the site and made it more useful and more dynamic.  There is more coming soon as well, but let me go over the current features.

In order to keep you better informed we have created several blogs.  In the News and Events blog you will find current news affecting the field as well as information on upcoming events where you can stay up to speed on the latest technology and methods as well as network with your colleagues.  The Hernia Education blog will keep you abreast of the most recently published books and abstracts.  And finally, the president of the American Hernia Society, Dr. Enrico Nicolo has his own blog, titled the President’s Message.  All of this is intended to keep the site fresh and informative as possible.

To make it easier for you to sign-up as a member and to attend events we have added electronic payments to the site.  If you’re interested in signing up as a new member you can submit your information and pay for your membership through the site.  Even more convenient we will now be offering the option for electronic payment for events.  All payments are secure, encrypted and safe.

Members will now have the ability to manage their web accounts through the site.  You can change your username and password or update your entire profile including photo in our password protected member area.  Coming soon is a brand new discussion forum where you can interact with other members and share information all in a private, members-only area.

Finally, we have added a powerful search functionality.  Need something on the site quick?  Just use the search box at the top or bottom of every page.

If you have any questions, comments or issues while using the site feel free to contact me at webmaster@americanherniasociety.org.  I will answer as soon as possible.  I want your virtual experience with the web site to be the same as your normal interaction with AHS - educational, enlightening and fun.
